If you have bound your game account with a third-party platform and your account has reached Lv. 5, you can bind it to a recovery email and set up a security code to further protect your account. The recovery email can be used to recover your lost FF account if you cannot access your bound platform account. What's more, you can also use it to change your bound platform account.
The security code will be used to reset or change your recovery email.
To bind a recovery email and set your security code, follow the steps below :
1. Make sure you have a secure email that is different from the one you use for your bound platform account and is not shared with others.
2. Log into the game account that you wish to bind the recovery email with.
3. Tap on the settings icon.
4. Tap “Bind”
5. Follow the instructions to enter the email address, then tap "Send" to request a verification code be sent to your email.
6. Find the verification code sent by Garena in your inbox.
7. Go back to the game, enter the verification code you received in the "Verification code" field, then tap "Verify" to complete the process.
After successfully binding your email, proceed to the next step to set up your security code, which can be used to reset or change your recovery email:
8. Enter your 6-digit security code in the "Security Code" field, then confirm the security code by entering it again in the "Confirm Code" field. Make sure to protect your screen and keep your code secure!
9. Tap "Confirm" and a confirmation image with your set security code will appear. You may save this image to ensure you do not lose the code.
If you have successfully set up your security code, you are almost there!
As soon as the 15-day Buffer Period is over, you may use your recovery email to recover your lost account or change your bound platform account!
The Buffer Period is designed to allow time for you to detect and stop any unauthorized email binding attempts by canceling the binding process.
To change the recovery email:
You may choose to change or unbind your recovery email. However, if you decide to unbind and then rebind your recovery email, there will be a 15-day period in which your account will be unprotected. Hence we highly recommend you change the recovery email directly to avoid any potential risks.
Follow the steps below to change your bound security email:
1. Make sure you have a valid and secure email to switch to.
2. Log into your game account that you wish to change bound email for.
3. Tap the settings icon.
4. In the "Email binding" section, tap "Change"
5. Enter the email that is currently bound to your FF account. In the "Security Code" field, enter the 6-digit security code you set previously. Tap "Verify" to proceed to the next step.
* If you forgot your security code, tap "forget password" and verify email binding through the email verification code.
6. Follow the instructions to enter your new email address, then tap "Send" to request a verification code be sent to your new email.
7. Find the verification code sent by Garena in your inbox.
8. Go back to the game and enter the verification code you received in the "Verification code" field, then tap "Verify" to complete the process.
Once the 15-day Buffer Period ends, you can use your new recovery email to get back into your lost account or change the platform account it's linked to.
During the Buffer Period, you can still use your old recovery email to recover your account.
The security code will not be reset after changing the recovery email. Please ensure that your initially set security code is kept safe and secure.
